Well, I had every intention of being good with the old blog and get a mid-week post in. God knows what will happen now that Kapgar's Photo extravaganza is over and done with.
Yup, it's the last week. I must admit that I've loved this project an awful lot and I'm sad that it's over. Alas... all good things must come to an end.
This week's challenger lyrics:
"Feelin' like a freak on a leash, feelin' like I have no release."
Korn,
"Freak on a Leash," Follow the Leader
Nothing says leash to me like the trappings of the 9-to-5 existence. The briefcase, well it seems, we put all sorts of responsible things in there. And if there is one place you don't want to be reminded of the business of our 9-to-5 it's by the river. Hence you can be a freak, but you still have the leash.
"Get your rocks off, get your rocks off, honey."
Primal Scream, "Rocks,"
Give But Don't Give Up
Every year, for longer than we all care to remember, John F. Ceprano
(seen here), takes rocks from the river bed and arranges them into
sculptures. Literally getting the rock off the ground. (He told me he
likes to make the rocks kiss.) He's looking for a rock here, but it looks like he's dancing and seems to embody "getting your rocks off" aspect. (Love this shot.)
"The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed."
George
Wyle and Sherwood Schwartz, "Gilligan's Island Theme Song"
I reckon this is about as high tech as the effect in the opening
sequence of Giligan's Island. The tiny ship was tossed... get it? I'm full of the funny. This boat was rescued from the tossing, as having it out for photo purposed re-ignited the passion for this you.
