I decided that in order to optimize my extremely gazelle like speed out there on the race course that I need a bit of strength training. I decided that I needed someone to show me how to optimize my time interfacing with places and heavy things. I also hope it will help with the Independence Weight Loss Challenge.
I hired a trainer for one session to work out a weight training plan to help with the running. Some of you will recall that my last experience with a personal trainer was not positive. Long story short: I hired her to get me through my first marathon, which she did. Then she decided that the best for me training was for me to ditch my husband and devote myself to strong women competition. Fired her ass.
But I needed help. So, I emailed Pierre at the gym, and he passed me onto to Katie who has a degree in human kinetics and used to run varsity cross-country. Katie who has great hair and weight as much as one of my legs. She has a planned laid out, says she works with some of the elites at this other gym. She knows her shit. Wow.
Exactly as I'd asked for it's a circuit program designed to be used for twice a week. Three times around said circuit. We did it once one Wednesday. I think I must have gotten hit by a truck at some points. I'd give you a list of what hurts. But ummm... well... it's shorter to list what doesn't hurt... my hair.
