Well, the bakery delivery man struck again with another Canadian dessert. This time sugar pie. Really it's a Quebecois confection Tarte au Sucre. I remember my grandmother making it. This one was better than I'd remembered.
Friday is "eat anything day" where I tend to not worry about the diet so much because of Saturday's long long long long run. (This week's is 18 miles/almost 29K). So I tend to not worry about it so much.
Been a rough 48 hours, The Boy has an ear infection. He was so miserable we called it quits one period into his first NHL the hockey game that we came home after the first. I must admit I thought he was bored, and I told him I was never bringing him to another game again. So we drove home and he went to bed. But around 10:30 (right around the time the clinics close) he woke up whimpering. This is not a child who whimpers. And in spite of doses of advil and tylenol he was still in a lot of pain. So we packed him up and took him to Emerg.
Now, I happen to know that ERs all over the city are busy. The Children's hospital is no different. Long waits. But he is clutching his ears crying. Poor kid. So we wait and we get registered. Then after about an hour, he's joking with The Man. So I say, if can joke obviously it's not THAT bad and we can take him to see his doc. Which is what we did. Infection both ears. Antibiotics big dose for two weeks.
So today I am tired and I am weary and even the sugar pie, I don't feel really flakey.
Good Lord! Butter tarts now this sugar pie? You tempt me, woman ;).
I hope the boy feels better :).

There seems to be lots of ear infections going around. BWB's Commander has been recovering from one as well. Here's to a speedy recovery for The Boy.
